Applications
The UE Ranger was created out of a recognized need to produce an intended outcome in the most efficient and effective manner. In designing the UE Ranger it was the goal of the developer, whom also is a Physical Therapist, to meet the needs of both the patient and their rehab professional to achieve the highest level of outcomes for each of their respective interests. With the addition of the Wall Mount (Clinical Applications) and Door Mount (Home Applications), the UE Ranger became a full upper extremity Movement Health System (MHS). The UE Ranger is proficient in supporting the acute stage of pain resolution and movement reintroduction (or passive phase of motion recovery (PROM)); to the complexities of reintegrating motor control and strength into functional biomechanics within the active assistive phase of motion recovery (AAROM).
Review the tables below to familiarize yourself with the specific capacities within the respective phases of upper extremity rehabilitation.
Passive Range of Motion (PROM)
- Self Assisted Natural Pain Relief
- Decreased pain = decreased medications = decreased side effects = return of restorative sleep = increased energy to rehab
- Self Assisted Circulatory Support
- Prevention of prolonged inflammatory state
- Enhance the healing and stabilization of the repair
- Self Assistive Prevention of Adhesions
- Supports the recovery of normal and healthy biomechanics
- Self Assisted Proprioception Support
- Support foundations required in neuro-muscular communications
- Support foundations of biomechanical coordination
Active Assistive Range of Motion (AAROM)
- Support of Graded Progressions of Contractility of the Involved Shoulder’s Musculature
- Enhances synergistic motor recovery and avoidance of substitutions and compensations
- Support of Multi-plane Functional and Natural Biomechanics of the Full Upper Extremity
- Prevention of sub-acromial impingement
- Support of both Closed and Open Chain Kinematics
- Capacity to simulate functional forces of sports, occupations and normal ADLs
- Support of Functional Manual Movement Techniques - Frees the hands of the Therapist to free restrictions and to merge motor control with biomechanical capacities.
