"I have used the UE Ranger for several years in the clinic with our post-operative patients for active assistive range of motion and have found it not only very useful but superior to using a cane or stick allowing better ease of use by patients in both elevation and rotational applications.  Recently I have been using the UE Ranger to assist my patients in gaining against gravity elevation following rotator cuff repair and arthroplasty. By mounting the UE Ranger against the wall, it has allowed patients to lever their extremity into greater levels of UE ROM minimizing scapular compensation.  This has been an additional benefit to the patients in our clinic and really made a difference in their rehabilitation.  The new research quantifying the muscular activity during its use provides additional support and validation for this excellent product."

"The UE Ranger has greatly enhanced my manual therapy interventions. I have been using the UE Ranger for many years now and since that time I have had not one of my shoulder patients require a manipulation. The UE Ranger allows me the ability to move my patients earlier and safer while I can address the soft tissue that restricts rotation and thus elevation of the arm. I have always been a clinician that strives to provide my patients with the techniques and methods that are supported by the best evidence available and the UE Ranger is a great example of this."

"I am just one week into the UE Ranger and can hardly contain my excitement! At least 50% of my practice are shoulder patients; tendonitis to replacement and everything in between. As a 20 + year PT and Polestar Pilates Instructor, it is a rare occasion that something new comes along that merits investment of my time or money.......until now. The UE Ranger is an incredible rehab tool and worthy enough that my 80 year old, fixed income Medicare lady (Helen) wants to purchase the Ranger after using it one week in the clinic. For a person of her generation to want to pay out of pocket for a therapy device is a testament in itself. Moreover, prior to the Rangers arrival Helen wanted to stop her therapy due to slow gains. Helen easily achieves 20 to 30 degrees more motion when using the Ranger. Functionally she cannot even walk up the wall (DX: severe fracture/ replacement 6/1/09 with subsequent frozen shoulder). Functionally the UE Ranger rocks! All of my rotator cuff patients love the new moves they are able to do with such ease. I plan to recommend the UE Ranger to all my post-operative shoulder patients."

"I’ve used this with patients that I have either manipulated the shoulder for capsulitis or performed an arthroscopic capsular release. For this, as well as my cuff problems, it has been a very cost-effective and useful appliance for me to use. My experience, has been uniformly pleasing in terms of accelerating the rehab while protecting the repair."

"Finally, a truly well thought out assistance device that keeps the best interest of both patient and therapist in mind. For the therapist, the UE Ranger makes an ideal ‘third hand’ for positioning and effectively allows for gentle supported motion in the UE, CRPS, or post forearm fracture. For the patient, it promotes independence and allows for a safe home program of passive and active assisted range-of-motion."

"The UE Ranger is one of the most innovative tools a therapist can use to improve range –of–motion, strength, and coordination of both the orthopedic and neurologically impaired shoulder and upper extremity. The UE RANGER is ideal for post surgical shoulder rehabilitation or any acute shoulder dysfunction as it can be used for passive, active assistive, active, and resistive range-of-motion in functional planes at varying degrees of elevation, rotation, and scapular orientation."

"I find the UE Ranger to be an excellent tool for overcoming impingement by allowing early overhead contractions of the RTC while influencing correct scapular position. This limits scapular hiking and prevents the posterior / anterior cuff from working isometrically and 'adapting' to a shortened range."

Pat Wilson, PT

"I love the UE Ranger! I bought one, and have three patients that now own one. It is the only thing that allowed them to exercise, without irritating their shoulder. Wonderful for total shoulders and severely torn Rotator cuffs. I would use it with any post op situation. Do not know what I did without it!"

Sandra Johnson Pomeroy, PT

"The UE Ranger helps greatly in making the transition from PROM to AAROM and from supine to standing exercise. It makes for a great initial AAROM exercise in standing because it allows for reaching exercise to be performed with most of the upper extremity's weight being supported by the Ranger."

Timothy Buresch, PT

"I find the UE Ranger to be a valuable tool in rehabilitating my shoulder patients. I received a lot of positive feedback from my patients. I have not used the cane since I received the Ranger."

Patient’s perspectives

"I have a torn rotator cuff with a retracted tendon.   One orthopedic surgeon said to have surgery.  A second said that the damage is so severe and the injury is old that she thought surgery would not give me a good enough outcome to do it.  I took medication to alleviate the constant pain from inflammation.  I started physical therapy.  It was in my P.T. sessions that I was introduced to the UE Ranger.  I liked using it right away, not having to grasp onto a rod or pole with my hand and fingers really helped with increasing my range of motion.  I decided to buy it and have found it to be very helpful in my recovery.  I plan to continue using it to maintain the range of motion I've achieved."

Dianne, patient

"That silly wand you had me using hurts my fingers and it's hard to hold onto.  With the Ranger, I can move my arm in all different directions a lot farther.  I am motivated again to get my range of motion back."

Helen W., patient

"In 2006, at the age of 61, I was diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff.  Surgery was the only option. My surgeon recommended considering The UE Ranger as a tool to enhance my recovery.  I was fully instructed on its use. I made the purchase. My doctor gave me a letter recommending the appliance which I submitted to my provider and was fully reimbursed. The best part was how quickly I started to recover. I was told by my surgeon that my progress was at least 8 weeks ahead of schedule. I continued to use my UE Ranger throughout my complete rehab. 41/2 years later I can honestly say that the product seriously expedited my recovery. I regained all range and motion. I work out with weights, ride a bicycle and do just about everything. My recovery is about 99.9%."

N. M. Feliciano, patient

"For me the UE Ranger was an invaluable aid in recovering from surgery to repair a severe rotator cuff tear. The Ranger initially provided support to start movement that otherwise would not have been possible without considerable pain and possible damage to the surgical repair. This early movement gave me a sense of empowerment that was highly beneficial throughout the ongoing recovery and rehab period. As treatment has progressed, the wide versatility of the Ranger has made it an excellent tool for continued rebuilding and strengthening. The Ranger is like having a therapist assisting me at home."
